Naka-dake Volcanovolcano
30 minutes from the hotel by car
Naka-dake is an active volcano currently experiencing activity even now in the Aso range. There is a road to western side of the caldera. You can reach it by car, foot or gondola.

Komezuka
30 minutes from the hotel by car
Kishimadake is a mountain which is a symmetrical cone located at the foot of Ojodake. It is a pyroclastic cone roughly 100 meters in height. In the middle, there is a line which is an embankment called The Dorui (earthworks). It was made as a boundary for the pastures. According to legend, Takeiwatatsunomikoto (a god enshrined at Aso Shrine) made the mountain by piling rice and the depression at the peak is the rice that he took to share with the needy.

Daikanbou
About 30 minutes from the hotel by car
With an altitude of 935.9m, Daikanbou is the highest peak of Aso on the northern outer rim. It gives you a wonderful view of Asodani and Aso Gogaku (the 5 peaks of Aso), the caldera basin, and the Kuju mountain range.

Aso Nature Land
About 15 minutes from the hotel by car
In one of Aso's beautiful fields, Aso Nature Land has a variety of outdoor sports for you to try. You can enjoy paragliding and motor Mountain board, hot-air ballooning, and more while looking out over the Aso Gogaku and Kitagairin.

Aso Cuddly Dominion
About 5 minutes from the hotel by car
The animal show at the Miyazawa Theater is very popular! There 300 bears of 10 varieties from all over the world that you can see up close. You can also have a bear cub, which you can pet or hug, sit on you lap. In addition, there are dogs, cats, ostriches, emus, llamas, cattle, goats, horses, snakes, wombats, capybara, rabbits and ducks. There is also an animal petting zoo.
